Job Description:

Our client a market leading global investment manager is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager based in Edinburgh to join the Accounting team in Finance reporting. The Senior Accounting Manager will possess practical experience across a range of Finance specialisms and a detailed understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II reporting metrics.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Accountant qualification (at least 4 years PQE is desirable).
  • Experience within financial services regulatory and legislator frameworks.
  • Experience within Insurance Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of industry best practice, good network with external bodies and individuals in the same field.
  • Working knowledge of internal products, systems, and distribution methods is desirable.
  • Ability to manage resources and to motivate people to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply judgement, evaluate potential solutions, and challenge upwards given knowledge to identify need for changes improving quality and efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Finance professionals, including technical experts, in the delivery of financial accounts and associated financial information with supporting analysis and commentary.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality results, meeting customer needs, within a robust control framework including clear audit trail.
  • Holding ultimate accountability for the accuracy of the output of the team, balancing resource time and cost to optimise the quality of the output.
  • Leading and providing expert advice and guidance on the application of accounting principles and tools to support business objectives.
