Job Description:
Our client, one of the UK's largest financial services providers, is looking for a Product Controller based in Edinburgh to interpret sophisticated processes and handle the efficient and effective production of high-quality output and analysis, anticipating partner needs. The role sits within the Money Markets Product Control team, an agile and encouraging team with a desire to foster all of its colleagues development goals, via learning opportunities, knowledge sharing and cross training.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of Product Control and experience in a closely related role.
- Relationship building and Partner management.
- Numerate and proficient with MS Office applications especially Excel.
- Curiosity about Process Improvement.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience of working in Product Control.
- Experience of SQL and Macros.
- Knowledge of Financial Instruments.
Core Responsibilities:
- Preparation of daily P&L production, reconciliations, signoffs, issue resolution.
- Supporting the month end close processes associated with accurately reporting and independently validating the bank's balance sheet in a timely manner.
- Preparation of analysis and in-depth commentary on P&L and balance sheet movements.
- Supporting a robust control framework for all processes within remit.
- Undertaking ad hoc work and investigation arising from partner requests.
- Supporting projects.
- Supporting delivery of efficiencies and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establishing and building relationships with partners.
