Job Description:

Are you a Finance Assistant with experience of working within a busy finance function? If this sounds like you, we have a great opportunity for you!

Our client, a financial services business based in Edinburgh, is recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join the business on an initial 6-month contract.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to build real, meaningful relationships and influence when needed
  • Strong systems aptitude, with advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Drive to understand processes and develop new skills
  • Be able to build a knowledge of the business, that is then actively applied to the successful operation of finance systems, processes, and services
  • Ability to manage your time effectively while maintaining a high-quality output
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and be confident communicating with senior stakeholders
  • Experience of working within a busy finance team
  • Ability to work to deadlines both as part of a team and using your own initiative

Core Responsibilities:

  • General ledger, P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly financial reporting packs at individual legal entity level
  • Preparation of finance reporting ledger analysis in support of external reporting processes.
    • Regulatory FCA reporting
    • Corporate tax reporting and returns
  • Finance planning and performance services including involvement with, and contribution to:
    • Balance sheet run offs
    • Detailed nominal ledger supplier / cost type analysis
    • Population of actuals data into forecasting data and analysis workbooks
    • Provision of adhoc general ledger sourced or linked information to stakeholders.
