Job Description:
Our client one of the world's preeminent asset management firms and a premier provider of investment management is looking for a Client Assets (CASS) Vice President based in Edinburgh. This role sits within the Technology and Operations function responsible for the firm's worldwide operations across all asset classes and geographies. The CASS Governance & Oversight team is responsible for overseeing the operational effectiveness of systems and controls that are designed to adhere to the FCA's client money and assets regulations ("CASS").
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of and experience using the FCA Client Assets Sourcebook.
- Previous experience operating in a CASS function.
- Broad understanding of operational functions and processes of an asset manager.
- A proven track record of delivering and enhancing CASS processes, systems, and controls.
- Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) or similar qualification is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with figures.
- Strong planning, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- High proficiency in MS Office applications.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintaining an effective governance and oversight framework in respect of CASS compliance.
- Taking ownership of CASS projects including new business, business change, regulatory change, CASS risk reduction initiatives and audit remediation.
- Reviewing risk events including breaches, near misses and areas of high inherent risk to assess the impact.
- Supporting all audit related activity with regards to internal and external audits, as well as compliance monitoring thematic reviews.
- Assisting in the design and delivery of effective CASS training for business partners at various levels.
- Ensuring all regulatory submissions are completed accurately and submitted timely.
- Ensuring all CASS related policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and maintained.
- Participating and supporting the running of the monthly CASS Governance Committee.
- Orchestrating comprehensive periodic due diligence of the third-party banking and transfer agent providers.
- The ongoing review and management of client money bank accounts.
