Job Description:
One of Core Asset's leading clients is in the market for an Investment Analyst to be based within their Investment Portfolio Management team.
The Portfolio Management team manages the firm's OEIC fund solutions and many of the insured funds at the centre of the firm's new business position. The role holder will report to the Head of Portfolio Management and will deliver specialist investment analyst expertise to support investment decision. The role holder will also support the quality of investment solutions offered by the firm and investor outcomes.
The Investment Analyst will contribute to the success of the broader Investments team. Such tasks may include investment analysis, performance reporting to assist Fund Governance and Marketing.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Degree level qualification
- Experience of Analytical work
- Delivery of projects / initiatives
- Experience of the financial services industry generally
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- CFA Level 1 or IMC preferred
Core Responsibilities:
Portfolio Analysis
- Production of portfolio analysis reports covering ex-ante risk and performance analysis
- Input into the portfolio construction process with specific responsibility for portfolio risk
- Make recommendations for portfolio changes to improve investor outcomes
- Input into the Portfolio Management team's portfolio construction procedures, including making recommendations to improve such procedures
Asset Allocation
- Provide detailed research on individual asset classes
- Make recommendations relating to asset allocation positioning
- Interact with the external asset allocation provider to receive advice as required. To provide robust review and challenge to the advice.
- Input into the Portfolio Management team's asset allocation procedures, including making recommendations to improve such procedures
- Fund Selection Provide detailed quantitative and qualitative fund research of funds. This will include both desk research and fund manager meetings
- Make recommendations for funds to be used (or removed) in portfolios managed by the Portfolio Management team. Recommendations will be made by written report and by verbal presentation
- Input into the Portfolio Management team's fund selection procedures, including making recommendations to improve such procedures
Sales & Marketing
- Provide input into marketing documents, including fund reports, market commentary, press articles etc both as directed
- Proactively originate ideas for marketing content
- Contribute investment input to sales focused presentations
