Job Description:
One of Core Asset's leading clients is in the market for an assured tax professional to take up the vacancy of Tax Reporting Senior Manager.
The role holder will be supported by a small team and will work closely with the Head of Global Business Taxes to develop the tax reporting and tax controls function within the business. They will also be required to develop and maintain a strong understanding of how the business operates and work with a wide range of business areas across a range of territories to ensure that tax reporting and compliance is effectively managed across the organisation. The role will also require the individual to develop strong working relationships with advisors, third party suppliers and other external contacts

- Qualified CA, CTA or equivalent at senior manager or experienced manager level
- Strong UK corporate tax background with significant tax accounting experience and exposure to international tax issues preferred

- Experience with financial services or a large corporate group an advantage
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the reporting and forecasting of taxes across the Group Think strategically to create automated processes to streamline the tax reporting model and maintain ongoing review of potential improvements to ongoing reporting approach
- Manage the provision and oversight of tax compliance processes for the firm's corporate entities and support the relationship with HMRC and other tax authorities
- Manage external advisors and ensure effective processes to actively manage outsourced service arrangements so as to ensure that service providers meet key deliverables in the UK and overseas
- Review and challenge within the tax reporting process to ensure high levels of control and high standard output
- Ensure the effective application and development of the tax risk and controls framework for the business together with supporting governance and reporting requirements, including UK SOX
- Input into the preparation of papers for Board and Audit Committees on the tax results Supervision and development of team members providing applicable feedback, coaching and guidance
- Oversight of adherence to international tax risk initiatives including country by country reporting
- Work closely with other tax colleagues to ensure consistency of approach, sharing of knowledge and effective risk coverage for the business globally
- Work with key business and external customers to ensure that both ongoing needs and ad hoc requests are met in a timely and appropriate manner
- Develop thorough understanding of the firm's business operations to ensure that all relevant tax risks and requirements are addressed
- Work closely with other tax colleagues in the wider Group to ensure tax issues relevant to other business areas in the group are understood and considered as part of the above activities
- Understand standard methodology and ensure industry representation for the firm as appropriate with external customers, including applicable industry bodies
- Supporting the provision of a comprehensive corporate tax reporting service to support the business as it continues to grow both in the UK and internationally, working closely with finance colleagues as an embedded part of the wider financial reporting process
- Ensuring oversight and provision of management information relating to the group tax profile and effective coordination with external tax reporting processes and requirements, such as country by country reporting
- Maintenance and provision of a comprehensive corporate tax compliance service, including significant oversight external providers and processes as required
- Providing technical support to the business for non-corporate tax requirements including oversight or input as appropriate on controls and reporting to support compliance processes
- Providing tax accounting and technical reporting expertise for the production of Group financial statements in compliance with legislation, accounting standards and best practice
- Maintenance of an effective tax risk and controls framework for the business Working with other tax colleagues and outsource providers, streamlining, developing and ongoing review of tax reporting processes including ongoing use and implementation of specialised tax reporting technology tools
