Job Description:

Our client has an exciting new role in their Edinburgh office for an individual with robust knowledge and experience in a Vendor (supplier) management role.

Reporting to the Market Data Operations Manager, this role requires a good understanding of the market data and information services industry and how these services are used in the asset management industry.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Vendor (supplier) management
  • Extensive industry knowledge in asset management and or asset servicing
  • Budget management
  • Vendor products and related IT services
  • Legal and commercial aspects of vendor licences
  • Understanding of financial instruments and international exchanges
  • Positive communication/ facilitation skills
  • Problem analysis and creative thinking

Core Responsibilities:

  • Presenting a professional service to partners across the firm ensuring service reviews are held with the vendors in their remit, including the use of a transparent vendor scorecard methodology
  • Acting as the primary contact across the business for services provided by the vendors within their remit
  • Engaging with partners across the firm to understand their future requirements
  • Demand management and fulfilment of requests Actively monitor actual system usage to ensure value is obtained and to feed into renewal discussions
  • Identify beneficial platform upgrades
  • Attestation of Exchange Use and System Access
  • Support vendor audits and schedule of usage requests Liaising with Relationship Managers to ensure the user requirements are reflected in negotiations
  • Support the Market Data Operations Manager and the Head of Market Data Services to devise a vendor / market data strategy for the firm
  • As required, assist the Financial Controller with payments and invoices. Ensuring that, where possible, Market Data is used across the firm within the terms of the licences and actively promote standard process in this area
  • Participating in Executive level engagements with vendors as required
  • Contract and agreements in compliance with the Procurement process
  • Maintaining an audit trail for all contracts and commercial agreements
  • Supplier governance for the performance of contracted services
  • Maintaining accurate records of Market Data services deployed
