Job Description:
Our client a global financial services company are in the market for Risk and Incident Management Analyst to join them on a permanent basis. Based in Glasgow, this role will involve investigating and managing Incidents that occur across the business and ensuring the existence and effectiveness of the risk management frameworks.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- An understanding of Operational risk and control
- Demonstrable experience of applying risk & control principles in a Securities Services environment
- Be able to look for ways to solve problem and provide analysis across specific operational processes.
- A strong personality who can cope with occasional resistance from other teams
- Be able to deal with challenging situations.
- Be approachable and able to provide guidance to Operational teams on risk topics and deliver training when required.
- Good Excel and PowerPoint presentation skill essential
Core Responsibilities:
- Single point of contact within the team for cross-location incidents. Liaising with IOC OPC teams and UK based operational teams for the timely closure & reporting and follow up of incidents; ensuring actions agreed are embedded in the IOCs
- Perform follow up spot checks on the effectiveness of Incident preventative measures
- Assist in forensic investigation and trend analysis for repeat incidents based on a priority of actual costs, near misses, client visibility
- Perform reconciliation of incident costs paid and recorded in Birdie and HI 360 reconcile to the relevant accounting systems and cost centres
- Prepare and evolve Incident reporting MI and reporting used by Operations, OPC, CCCO and all applicable Risk governance meetings
- Conduct Incident Management training to new joiners across Operations and as required. Ensure Training materials are kept up to date and relevant
- Perform agreed local incident related control testing, on a continuous basis, not covered by CCLs but deemed by location to be important / high risk
- Be a key contact for Birdie system enhancements and coordination of Birdie upgrade testing across UK
