Job Description:
Our client, a leading financial services firm is looking for a Senior PMO Analyst to join their team in Glasgow. The position is within a central PMO team who support the Client Delivery department change activities. You will be providing a stable framework to support all project teams and stakeholders to assure successful project delivery and supporting the needs of senior management for governance and decision making.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Extensive PMO experience within financial services
- Strong understanding of the project lifecycle
- Detailed knowledge of project, programme, and portfolio management tasks
- Proficient in the use of standard project planning and measurement tools
- Capability to be flexible and step beyond this role as and when required.
- Evidence of driving delivery of strategic initiatives
- Excellent communication skills, exceptional written communication
- Able to quickly produce high quality documentation, distilling into key issues and attention points.
- Previous Project Management experience
Core Responsibilities:
- Facilitate processes to coordinate and control the portfolio of work across the Client Delivery department.
- Provide high quality materials and input into senior level portfolio governance both internally and for clients.
- Provide support to Programme and Project Managers, to sponsors and senior management in the management of the project portfolio.
- Maintain and manage the project roadmap and pipeline and provide visibility to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor budget and spend for projects, develop processes to highlight variance to stakeholders.
- Monitor capacity planning, utilise, and enhance tools and provide support where needed and communicate resource allocation challenges.
- Verify project tracking, control, and reporting, including management of risks, issues, dependencies, actions, budget tracking, change control and regular reporting.
- Continue to drive the roll out of the PMO processes to the wider Client Delivery area, incorporating other teams' processes, standardising processes.
- Actively contribute to the strategy for PMO
- Identify, lead, and sponsor Continuous Improvement initiatives for the PMO
- Consider the implications of your actions on colleagues, partners, and clients before making decisions, and escalate issues to your manager when unsure.
- Manage, monitor, and enhance where needed the processes to coordinate and control the portfolio of work across the department.
- Ensure timely, relevant, and accurate collation of data and reporting for departmental and transversal activities such as capacity planning, resource management, forecasting, project planning, RAID management.
- Deliver high quality reporting to project stakeholders, including sponsors, senior management, and our clients.
