Job Description:

We have a new, exciting permanent opportunity for a multi-asset portfolio manager to join a UK leading financial services firm in Northern England. The role holder will travel to the firm's offices 2-3 days a week with all travel and accommodation costs covered by the firm.

We are actively seeking applications from portfolio managers with strong experience in the field of strategic and/or tactical asset allocation, knowledge of multiple traditional asset classes and strong analytical and leadership skills.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Multi-asset portfolio management with several years of experience in the field of tactical and/or strategic asset allocation
  • Strong technical skills, with an analytical mindset and strong asset allocation skills
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Determine instruments for inclusion within appropriate portfolios from those researched ideas. Research responsibilities are allocated across the entire investment team and discussed regularly.
  • Determine the appropriate position size of those instruments within the fund considering the fund objective and risk tolerance.
  • Ensure that the rationale for all transactions is recorded and communicated to the investment team.
  • Manage portfolios on an ongoing basis, adjusting position sizes and replacing instruments as necessary based on changing relative preferences and conviction levels.
  • Ensure client, regulatory and internal limits are understood and adhered to when constructing and managing portfolios.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the role and functions that are undertaken in the Investment Management (IM) and Governance (G) teams.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding and interpretation of the financial markets and the impact that this will have on portfolios.
