Job Description:

Are you a Back-End Software Engineer who enjoys working within fast paced environments and financial services?

Our client, a leading business services provider, is recruiting for a Lead Back-End Software Engineer to complete and launch a new hub for mortgage lenders, brokers, and customers.

The role can be based anywhere within the UK.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Java 17+
• Spring Core and Boot
• Junit5 and Mockito
• REST API design
• MySQL or similar relational DBs
• MongoDB or similar NoSQL technologies
• AWS and securing back-ends
• Secure Software Development Practises

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Financial services/fintech experience
• Agile experience

Core Responsibilities:

• Define solutions, write complex functional/technical specifications, oversee development and implementation for Back-End requirements
• Work with colleagues and client/users to investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures, using methodical and consistent techniques
• Design large and complex programs and modifications
• Provide support for existing systems, carry out investigative work and perform software changes to resolve issues
• Plan, design and conduct testing
• Take an active part in Software Engineering policy making
