Job Description

Core - Asset are working on a role for a Management Accountant to join a professional services firm in Edinburgh. You will be a qualified accountant and be responsible for the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and review and sign off year end accounts.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Extensive management accounting experience within legal, accounting or professional services
• ICAS/ICAEW/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of high-quality monthly management accounts and commentary to reflect business performance
• Preparation, review and sign off year end accounts including liaison with the auditors
• Preparation of detailed financial analysis, including KPI analysis at a firm, group, partner team, and individual level
• Preparation of regular cashflow and profit and loss forecasting
• Preparation of annual budgets and budgeted cashflows within the agreed timelines, and monitoring/reporting thereon
• Responsibility for quarterly VAT returns
• Review and sign off of monthly payroll
• Working with the Cashroom team to ensure outstanding fees are collected
