Job Description:
Our client, a technology provider, is looking for an experienced permanent Engineer in Test to join their team in Edinburgh. The role will have an element of both engineering and testing, so candidates should be open to both. The ability to work in a fast paced environment, with an automation mindset is needed.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Possess the ability to work across multiple projects and are adaptable to a fast paced, high growth environment.
- Have a knack for discovering untested scenarios and like working closely with others to ensure robust acceptance criteria.
- Enjoy testing products throughout the development process and working closely with engineering and product teams.
- Strive to achieve high test coverage across our product and development lifecycle.
- Have a good knowledge of test automation frameworks for both front-end and back-end testing.
- Working autonomously, taking ownership for personal and team delivery and outcomes.
- Have experience in API test automation and have knowledge of test automation frameworks, preferably in Javascript or Typescript.
- Have experience of moving from simple user stories to TDD/BDD stories that use like Gherkin.
- Cypress, Mocca, Jest, Playwright experience beneficial
Core Responsibilities:
- Working with and challenging product owners and engineers to improve test coverage and to discover untested scenarios.
- Working in a domain aligned cross functional squad made up of engineers, engineers-in-test and product.
- Automate testing across APIs and front-end web applications, including E2E, Integration and Scalability testing.
- Involved in the full software development cycle including automation.
- Supported by colleagues from DevOps, Customer, Operations.
- Working in a highly collaborative agile team, guiding them on quality best practise.
