Job Description:

An exciting new role for an Analyst to join a boutique investment firm in Edinburgh. Reporting to the Head of Research, you will have a varied role assisting Directors with research reports, oversight reports and both investment manager/investment consultant searches.

The successful applicant will be supported to take the Investment Management Certificate in the first year of joining.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a small company in a data focused position, that will allow the successful individual to gain client facing exposure as well.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • A degree in any subject and evidence of mathematical competence at either higher or standard grade or equivalent.
  • Recent graduate or ideally have 1-3 year's work experience not necessarily in an investment related role.
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a small company where individual effort affects the outcome of the business.
  • Have an interest in finance and investment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to produce reports/analysis to a high standard.

Core Responsibilities:

Research Reports

  • Assisting a Director(s) in the gathering of information, analysis and production of research reports for:
  • Fiduciary manager research reports
  • Investment consultant research reports
  • Issuing due diligence questionnaires and related documents
  • Logging responses to due diligence questionnaires and related documents
  • Extracting relevant information from questionnaires and inputting into research database
  • Analysis of data and production of charts for inclusion in reports
  • Fiduciary manager and investment consultant searches
  • Production of oversight reports
  • Assisting in the production and development of marketing material including communications, presentations, blogs, and press release
  • Database maintenance and update for research and performance databases.
