Job Description:

Are you interested in pursuing a career in AML/KYC? Our client, a financial services firm based in Edinburgh, has an exciting opportunity for a Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis. The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating client risk profiles through completing thorough KYC checks whilst ensuring compliance with UK regulations.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Up to 2 years' experience in AML/KYC analyst role.
  • Interest/passion for pursuing their career in this area.
  • Experience in KYC due diligence processes.
  • Understanding of the UK's anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) regulations and best practices.
  • Familiarity with KYC software and databases is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive and dynamic work environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to report findings and interact with colleagues and clients.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate client risk profiles to identify and mitigate potential risks and make recommendations for enhanced due diligence when necessary.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the relevant UK anti-money laundering regulations and ensure that all KYC activities are in full compliance with these regulations.
  • Perform thorough KYC checks on fund manager and investor clients to verify their identity and assess associated risks.
  • Generate clear and concise reports documenting the findings of KYC due diligence, including recommendations for risk mitigation and escalation when required.
  • Review and analyse client-provided documents, including identification, ownership structures, and beneficial ownership information.
  • Continuously monitor existing client accounts to detect and report any suspicious activities or changes in client information.
