Job Description:

A highly respected wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Investment Manager to join their Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of private clients, providing tailored investment advice and delivering long-term investment strategies aligned with client objectives. This role is suited to a Chartered professional who combines strong technical investment expertise with excellent client relationship skills.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Level 7 Chartered status (CISI Chartered Wealth Manager, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience managing discretionary or advisory investment portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-quality client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
  • Business development mindset with the ability to grow a client book.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of high-net-worth and private clients, delivering personalised investment advice and portfolio management services.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients through regular reviews and proactive communication.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, networking, and professional connections.
  • Construct, monitor, and review client portfolios in line with investment objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists, including financial planners and research teams, to deliver holistic wealth management solutions.
  • Ensure all activities comply with FCA regulations and internal governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with compliance requirements.
