Job Description:
A highly respected wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Investment Manager to join their Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of private clients, providing tailored investment advice and delivering long-term investment strategies aligned with client objectives. This role is suited to a Chartered professional who combines strong technical investment expertise with excellent client relationship skills.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Level 7 Chartered status (CISI Chartered Wealth Manager, or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing discretionary or advisory investment portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-quality client relationships.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
- Business development mindset with the ability to grow a client book.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a portfolio of high-net-worth and private clients, delivering personalised investment advice and portfolio management services.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients through regular reviews and proactive communication.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, networking, and professional connections.
- Construct, monitor, and review client portfolios in line with investment objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal specialists, including financial planners and research teams, to deliver holistic wealth management solutions.
- Ensure all activities comply with FCA regulations and internal governance standards.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with compliance requirements.
