Job Description:

Core-Asset Consulting is supporting a well-established wealth management firm in the search for a Paraplanner to join their Private Wealth function in Edinburgh.

The Paraplanner will provide comprehensive technical and analytical support to Financial Advisers across the full advice process. This includes conducting research, preparing suitability reports, supporting annual reviews and ensuring accurate and compliant client documentation.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of the FCA ongoing suitability process
  • Experience supporting financial planning and client servicing within a regulated environment
  • Proficiency in industry-standard research and cashflow modelling tools and practice management systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • High level of attention to detail and technical accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
  • Motivated, enthusiastic and committed to professional development, ideally with the ambition to progress towards Chartered status

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical research and analysis to support client recommendations, including investment and tax considerations
  • Prepare full suitability reports and ad-hoc suitability letters
  • Produce supporting documentation, including illustrations and key features
  • Support the implementation of recommendations, ensuring compliance documentation is accurate and complete
  • Maintain and update client files, including policy information and research records
  • Assist with annual review preparation, including valuations, analysis and cashflow modelling
  • Complete annual review documentation to confirm ongoing suitability
  • Upload research and compliance documentation to internal systems
  • Attend client meetings when required to take notes and support technical queries
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of tasks and meet agreed deadlines
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties
  • Provide team support and contribute to operational and process improvement initiatives
