Job Description:

Our client, a well-established and respected financial planning firm, is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing team in Edinburgh.

Working closely with Financial Planners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, client-focused financial planning advice. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Paraplanner looking to further develop their expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment that offers ongoing professional development and study support.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • CII Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Chartered Financial Planner status is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years' paraplanning experience within a financial planning or wealth management environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK taxation, including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Inheritance Tax.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pension planning and estate planning.
  • Experience using financial planning tools, templates, and research resources.
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality suitability reports and technical recommendations for clients.
  • Produce cashflow forecasts to support clients' long-term financial objectives.
  • Conduct technical research and analysis to support the delivery of financial planning advice.
  • Assist with annual reviews and ongoing client servicing activities.
  • Attend client meetings, prepare meeting notes, and support Financial Planners with follow-up actions.
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure an efficient and professional client experience.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, templates, and best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial planning legislation, industry developments, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage your workload effectively to ensure deadlines and service standards are consistently met.
