Job Description:
We are working on a fantastic Operations Analyst opportunity with a financial services firm based in Newcastle. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting critical post-trade and operational processes while working closely with internal stakeholders, technology teams and external service providers to drive efficiency, scalability and operational excellence.
Skills/Experience:
- 18+ months of experience within investment operations, asset management or banking environments.
- A strong academic background, including a minimum 2.1 degree from Russell Group or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of post-trade operations and reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting multiple asset classes within a front-to-back operational framework.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues and identify practical solutions.
- A genuine interest in financial markets and a desire to build deeper market and product knowledge.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and oversee daily operational controls through a suite of reconciliations, including positions, trades and cash.
- Support operational activities across a broad range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, rates, futures, credit and commodities.
- Investigate and resolve exceptions arising from electronic trade affirmation and matching processes.
- Contribute to the continued enhancement of operational infrastructure, helping to develop scalable and efficient processes across both existing and emerging business areas.
- Liaise with technology teams and external vendors to support process improvement initiatives and operational enhancements.
- Maintain oversight of outsourced post-trade activities and ensure appropriate escalation procedures are followed where required.
- Assist in strengthening operational controls and supporting best practice across the investment operations function.
