Job Description
Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced PMO Manager to join its technology and development function based in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enabling predictable, sustainable delivery across a collaborative development team.
Reporting to the Product Director, you will work with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business to deliver and embed business, operational, regulatory and technology change using established delivery methodologies.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a PMO management role, overseeing, designing and embedding governance frameworks and project delivery.
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment and within technology or software delivery environments.
- Understanding of project, programme and agile delivery approaches.
- Demonstrable experience managing project risks, issues and dependencies.
- Experience managing relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders and provide constructive challenge.
- Relevant PMO or Project Management qualification is desirable.
Core Responsibilities
- Shape and evolve the PMO operating model to drive effective, scalable delivery across the organisation.
- Provide insight into team capacity and delivery priorities to support effective planning and informed decision-making.
- Promote consistent delivery standards by ensuring agreed readiness and acceptance requirements are applied throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify potential delivery challenges and work with stakeholders to implement effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain clear, consistent reporting, including delivery roadmaps, sprint updates and project status information.
- Implement quality assurance practices to help ensure successful and consistent delivery outcomes.
- Track and report on delivery performance against agreed KPIs, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within agreed scope.
- Work closely with senior product leaders to support planning, governance and the successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Prepare concise, meaningful management information and progress reports for senior stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support in resolving project risks, issues and cross-functional dependencies.
- Build strong working relationships across the business, fostering collaboration and maintaining clear communication on delivery progress.
- Engage stakeholders throughout the change lifecycle to encourage alignment, understanding and successful adoption.
- Champion best practice by sharing knowledge, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the wider project and change community.
