Job Description:

Our client, a fast-growing financial services firm, is looking for a 1st Line IT Technician to join their office-based technology team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT support professional who enjoys delivering high-quality technical support in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience in an IT support role.
  • Experience supporting Windows, macOS, iOS and Android environments.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Exchange and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and network connectivity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support users at all levels.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible, proactive and self-motivated attitude.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices.
  • Manage user accounts and devices using Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Exchange and Microsoft 365.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network connectivity issues for both office-based and remote users.
  • Support meeting room audio-visual technology, carrying out routine checks to ensure equipment is fully operational.
  • Prepare, configure and rebuild laptops and other end-user devices, while maintaining accurate equipment stock records and managing disposals.
  • Install and manage software packages required for business users.
  • Support remote access technologies, including VPN and multi-factor authentication.
  • Provide support for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) applications.
  • Manage and prioritise first-line support tickets, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Administer the organisation's telephony platform, including user accounts, call groups, call routing and availability settings.
  • Provide remote support to colleagues across multiple locations, with occasional travel to other sites when required.
  • Create and maintain IT documentation, processes and procedures.
