Our client, an established business based in Edinburgh, is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their finance team on an initial 6-month temporary basis.

As Finance Assistant, you'll pwithin the accounting system, reconciling customer payments and handling suspensions, as well as building and maintaining relationships wilay an important role in helping the team achieve its goals. You'll be responsible for recording sales invoices th customers to keep cash flow managed effectively.

Skills/Experience:

  • Working knowledge of a financial ledger
  • High level of attention to detail with an analytical mindset
  • Ability to problem-solve, stay curious and embrace change
  • Computer literacy, with a good understanding of Google Sheets/Excel in particular

Core Responsibilities:

  • Sales Ledger & Invoicing: post sales invoices, monitor receivables, ensure agreed customer payment arrangements are met and credit notes are approved
  • Customer & Partner Support: resolve invoice and payment queries promptly, partnering with sales operations on non-standard issues
  • Inbox Management: help manage the finance team inbox, handling incoming queries from customers and staff
  • Reporting: assist in preparing monthly management and fortnightly revenue & subscriber reporting, contributing to the finance scorecard
  • Month End & Reconciliations: reconcile bank accounts, resolve suspense items and assist with month-end reporting
  • Process Improvement: proactively review processes with a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows
  • Ad-hoc Projects: contribute to ad-hoc tasks and project work as they arise across the business
