Job Description:

Our client, a leading investment bank, is looking to appoint a Structured Products Middle Office Analyst to join them on an initial 6 month contract based in their London office.

As Structured Products Middle Office Analyst, you will support the Structured Credit & Rates front office business lines, as well as a variety of other Fixed Income desks where complex structures or ad-hoc bookings are involved, including Global Macro IR & FX/LM products. The team supports a portfolio of complex transactions, ensuring each is booked accurately and all life cycle events are properly processed.

Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working in control functions within an investment bank
  • Good theoretical and working knowledge and experience of fixed income, equities credit, rates, FX and structured products
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of operational risk and the permanent control framework

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assigned daily production tasks within the Structured Products Middle Office team
  • Assist in facilitating the deployment of a strong operational control environment within the team
  • Ensure deals are represented correctly in the booking systems, conformed to all legal documentation terms, and adequately stored and controlled throughout the transaction lifetime
  • Ensure all breaks across the controls performed are understood and resolved within agreed targets/SLAs
  • Ensure root causes for underlying breaks are tracked, understood and resolved, contributing to a healthy control environment
  • Analyse alignment between client needs and operational set-up and processes, to ensure the best possible service is delivered as efficiently as possible
  • Report KPIs/KRIs on a regular basis to management, reviewing them frequently to ensure they are updated; contribute to the definition of an action plan to remediate any deficiency and create new KPIs/KRIs as required
